As promised, today, we continue with our Toyota name series. We explore the origin of or what most of these names mean. The name origins mentioned are limited to principal ones and are not exhaustive for some models. Each name has a date of when the car’s production started.


Derived from “avancer,” the French word for “to advance.” Oct. 6,2003. This name was also an export name but some have begun trickling into the country.


A name inspired by the “All-in-One” concept of the vehicle and reflecting the manufacturer’s ambition to integrate the advantages of all vehicle types into this car.Dec.25,2001. Though still few, some are available in our local bonds.

ARISTO A prefix of Greek origin meaning “best.” Oct.31,1991. These makes are offshoots of the Lexus marquee and like other brands meant for export, just a few exist in the country
